The government of Antigua and Barbuda is committed to transforming the sector into one that ensures food security, creates economic opportunities, and adapts to the impacts of climate change. In this regard, a range of incentives are offered to potential investors to energies the sector and ultimately increase its contribution to GDP. The sector is projected to have grown by at least 7 per cent in 2024 and, in nominal terms, contribute EC$116 million to GDP. Though its contribution to national output is small relative to other sectors, agriculture and fisheries remain a cornerstone of the country’s efforts to build a sustainable, resilient, and self-reliant nation.
