Antigua’s main international port for cargo is the commercial pier at Deepwater Harbour in St John’s. It has a draught of 35 feet. Facilities include container handling services. Offloading and customs clearance usually takes place within the day. Customs uses the ASYCUDA system. The redevelopment and expansion of the facilities was recently completed to the tune of US$90 million with funding from China Exim Bank. 

The Antigua and Barbuda Port Authority is a statutory body that oversees the maritime ports on Antigua and Barbuda.
In addition to the commercial pier, Nevis Pier and Heritage Quay are designed to handle cruise traffic, receiving ships averaging 1,700 passengers. Construction of the 5th Cruise Ship Berthing Pier has enabled Antigua and Barbuda to begin Home Porting operations.
