The development of an economy largely powered by renewable energy has the potential to create significant social, economic and environmental value. Over recent years, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda has adopted several policies and legislation that establish the enabling framework to facilitate the progressive transition to greater renewable energy use in the country. The National Energy Policy cited “Stimulate New Economic/Business Opportunities” as one of its priority areas in achieving its renewable energy transition goals. The Government therefore has formulated a range of incentives aimed at encouraging commercial and residential investments in renewable energy solutions.
